Malaysia Passport - Checking of Travel Status

Recently Immigration Department of Malaysia (Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia) has imposed a policy to prohibit some Malaysian from travelling abroad. That means their Malaysia passports are invalid of travelling oversea. It is mainly due to a great number of Malaysian do not pay back their PTPTN loan or income tax. According to newspapers, there are about 13% of Malaysia passport holders under black list. Hence it is better that you check your traveling status before you subscribe to any tour package or business trip, avoiding unnecessary disappointment, especially at the time before boarding in the airport. The link is http://www.imi.gov.my/semak.aspx. For more details, you are encouraged to visit the official website at http://www.imi.gov.my.

Semenyih: Yap Choon Kwai Kon Loh Mee 干捞面

In Semenyih town, there is a place famous for breakfast. The place is just beside to S. J. K. (C) Sin Ming or Sin Ming primary school (新民国民型华文小学). The shop name is called Yap Choon Kwai restaurant 春贵茶餐室. This restaurant has been here since I was young.

Sin Ming primary school

Yap Choon Kwai restaurant, famous for Kon Loh Mee

Normally the residence of Semenyih just call Yap Choon Kwai. If you are not a local residence here, you most probably will not visit this restaurant because the shop is very old and unattractive. However it is famous for Kon Loh Mee (noodle) 干捞面 and Laksa (curry mee). Due to limited seats, most of the time customers have to wait especially during Sunday. Besides this, if there are too many customers, then you are not allowed to take away to reduce waiting time of seated customers.

The shop looks old and unattractive

This restaurant is managed by Mr. Yap Choon Kwai and his wife as shown in the figure above. With their more than 20 years skills, the Kon Loh Mee is very delicious, filled with black soy sources. There is an option for customer, you could choose either char siu 叉烧 or fish balls / fu zhou. I normally choose fish balls and fu zhou. Besides the Kon Loh Mee, I think the Laksa here also taste superb and wonderful. The santan in the Laksa is just nice in the quatity, does not taste too sweet or too plain.

The noodles here come in two sizes, either small or big size. The small and big size cost RM3.80 and RM4.50 respectively. Apart from this option, grilled chicken wing and curry chicken can be an additional side dishes, which making you awesome!

The Lost City of Atlantis Found in Google Ocean / Wikimapia

Could you spot the lost city of Alantis? (click image to enlarge)

Could you spot anything from the above picture? If you have sharp eagle eyes as Bernie Bamford, who found the lost city of Atlantis by Google Ocean (an extension of Google Earth), then you can see a perfect water image rectangular size in the ocean near to Canary Islands, which are near to Morocco. The co-ordinates 31 15'15.53N 24 15'30.53W. The above picture was captured by Google Wikimapia instead. I think it is a groundbreaking news that the lost city - Atlantis can be found by just looking at the computer screen of Google Ocean. Furthermore the founder is just an ordinary aeronautical engineer. It is a truly amazing and thrilled experience. I never thought a legengary story can become true history!

From the zoom-in view of Atlantis, there are several well-structured line and looks like a man-made city. This is how the founder claimed the city to be the lost of city Atlantis.

DENGUE FEVER REMEDY

PASS THIS INFORMATION TO AS MANY AS YOU CAN, IT MAY SAVE LIVES.

Dengue FeverRemedy

I would like to share this interesting discovery from a classmate's son who has just recovered from
dengue fever. Apparently, his son was in the critical stage at the ICU when his blood platelet count drops to 15 after 15 liters of blood transfusion.

His father was so worried that he seeks another friend's recommendation and his son was saved. He confessed to me that he gave his son raw juice of the papaya leaves. From a platelet count of 45 after 20 liters of blood transfusion, and after drinking the raw papaya leaf juice, his platelet count jumps instantly to 135. Even the doctors and nurses were surprised. After the second day he was discharged. So he asked me to pass this good news around.

Accordingly it is raw papaya leaves, 2pcs just cleaned and pound and squeeze with filter cloth. You will only get one tablespoon per leaf. So two tablespoon per serving once a day.. Do not boil or cook or rinse with hot water, it will loose its strength. Only the leafy part and no stem or sap. It is very bitter and you have to swallow it like "Won Low Kat". But it works.

*Papaya Juice - Cure for Dengue*

You may have heard this elsewhere but if not I am glad to inform you that papaya juice is a natural cure for dengue fever. As dengue fever is rampant now, I think it's good to share this with all.

A friend of mine had dengue last year. It was a very serious situation for her as her platelet count had dropped to 28,000 after 3 days in hospital and water has started to fill up her lung. She had difficulty in breathing. She was only 32-year old. Doctor says there's no cure for dengue. We just have to wait for her body immune system to build up resistance against dengue and fight its own battle. She already had 2 blood transfusion and all of us were praying very hard as her platelet continued to drop since the first day she was admitted.

Fortunately her mother-in-law heard that papaya juice would help to reduce the fever and got some papaya leaves, pounded them and squeeze the juice out for her. The next day, her platelet count started to increase, her fever subside. We continued to feed her with papaya juice and she recovered after 3 days!!!

Amazing but it's true. It's believed one's body would be overheated when one is down with dengue and that also caused the patient to have fever papaya juice has cooling effect.. Thus, it helps to reduce the level of heat in one's body, thus the fever will go away. I found that it's also good when one is having sore throat or suffering from heat.

Please spread the news about this as lately there are many dengue cases. It's great if such natural cure could help to ease the sufferings of dengue patients.

Furthermore it's so easily available.
Blend them and squeeze the juice! It's simple and miraculously effective!!

Valentine's Day Gift

Valentine's Day! What do you send to your lover? Having a special dinner or lunch at luxurious restaurant? But it costs a lot right as compared to the same meal in the same restaurant. Some more you have to book earlier. How about buying a bundle of red romantic roses? This technique cannot be used so often.. otherwise it becomes not special.

Self-made Candle Glass

The best thing is making a gift by myself, hence it is very special. This method might take you a long time to prepare and think. I provides you a simple solution which is making a candle glass as shown in the above picture. The only material you need is fragrant candle, glass, some decoration stuff. I used real flowers and small subtle glass snail as the ornaments. That's it! Simple and cost a little. How could I make it?

The steps are simple. First, decorate the glass and ornaments. After that, heat up the fragrant candle. Fill up the glass with water or color water. Then pour the melting candle into the top surface of the water slowly. This step must be done slowly and carefully because it will impact on the shape of the candle. If pour the candle too fast, then it will dip deeply into water. What you can do is just pour a little first to cover the top surface and let it to cold down. Then you could add the rest of the candle.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Airasia: Pick your own seat

Airasia New Idea: Pick your own seat! (source)

Now you can pick up your own seat in Airasia flight without any hassle. You don't have to rush in to choose the best feng shui seat or the seat near to window, allowing you to enjoy remarkable view. The new system divides the seats into HOT seats and Standard seats as shown in the flight floorplan below: the seats with red colour are HOT seats, at the cost of RM25 while the rest are Standard seats with RM5 surcharge.

Hot seats and standard seats

In my view, this new system is better than Xpress Boarding, introduced few months ago. It is because in the previous Xpress Boarding service, the passengers do not guarantee can get the seats they want, someone might run faster than the passengers and grap the good seat. In other words, this new system reduces passenger disappointment of seat location. I am quite impressed with Airasia that always provides new and innovative idea to improve passenger needs.

No longer need to rush when boarding- have to follow seat number!

Air Asia in LCCT

Note: With this new feature, it implies that all passengers have to follow the seat number as printed in the air ticket when you checking in your baggages!

For more information about "pick your own seat" system, you may visit this link for FAQ.

Pick your own seat charges (source)

Besides this, I noticed that Airaisa have revamped their online air ticket booking system.

For example, the pre-book baggage system. In the old system, it was asking how many baggages need to be checked in. In the new syste, you have 4 options: No checked Bag, Regular - up to 15kg (5.00 MYR), medium - up to 20kg (55 MYR), large - up to 25kg (105MYR). To me, it is still very costly, 5kg more is worth RM50!! somemore it has been 50% discounted!

Baggage system with several weight

As for the meal, I think it is almost the same. Same comment, it is quite costly. Sometimes, we have no choice to buy if having long distance travel. Maybe you will taste the food differently in the 10000 feet height in the air.

Plastic Code in Bottle

Did you ever drink from a plastic bottle and see a triangle symbol on the bottom with a number inside?

Do you know what the number stands for?
Did you guess that it's just for recycling?
Then you are WRONG !!!!!!
THE NUMBER TELLS YOU THE CHEMICAL MAKE UP OF THE PLASTIC
.....

1) Polyethylene terephalate (PET)

2) High density polyethylene (HDPE)

3) Unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (UPVC) or Plasticised polyvinyl chloride (PPVC)

4) Low density polyethylene LDPE

5) Polypropylene (PP)

6) Polystyrene (PS) or Expandable polystyrene (EPS)

7) Other, including nylon and acrylic

What you aren't told is that many of the plastics used are toxic and the chemicals used to create a plastic can leach out of the plastic and into the food / drink.

Think about it, how many times have you or a friend said 'I don't like this, it taste like the plastic bottle ..... '
THAT'S BECAUSE YOU ARE TASTING THE PLASTIC

The
WORST ONES are Nos: 3, 6, and 7 !!!

DO NOT
USE THESE NUMBERS if stated at the bottom of the bottle) !!!

Check out this chart that breaks down the plastic, its uses and chemical makeup
(I find #7 a little scary)

URLs restricted by robots.txt problem

URLs restricted by robots.txt problem: Two URLs were impacted

My Casualzone blog which hosts in blogspot, suddenly encountered a problem: URLs restricted by robots.txt problem when I checked in Webmaster Tools by Google. It really frustrated me because I did not make any main changes. The reports showed that I had two URLs facing this problem and the problem was detected by 28 Jan 2009, not so long ago from today.

Sign in to Webmaster Tools

Note: you could sign up Webmaster Tools: click on "about google" in google search page, click on "Webmaster Centre", click on "Sign in to Webmaster Tools".

Analyse robot.txt

After checking Google helps, it showed that it mostly related to robot.txt file which allows user to add some restriction on webpage. Looked strange to me because I did not edit this file before. Then I realized that there was a Analyse robot.txt option in Webmaster Tools:Tools section as shown in picture above.

robot.txt file

The image above showed the original robot.txt file. Basically I did not understand how it worked. One thing I noticed was that it had disallow section for /search. I was not sure how this code was added in but I started to suspect it must be a culprit. After that I checked on my problematic URLs to find whether there was anything related to /search.

By observation, I noticed that all Blogspot Tag links had http://your_blog_name.blogspot.com/search/label/xxxx. For instance of my label tag: http://casualzone.blogspot.com/search/label/Semenyih
That meant that not only the two URLs were impacted but all URLs with Tag were affected. Wow, it was a big problem!

Test impacted URL: blocked by disallow: /search

I tested the URLs one by one to confirm my statement just now. I inserted the impacted URL in to the "Test URL box" as shown in the above picture and then I ran a test. The test result showed that the URL was blocked by line 5: Disallow: /search. This verified my statement. The next step was how to fix it?

removed /search code from Disallow section
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
User-agent: Mediapartners-Google
Disallow:

User-agent: *
Disallow:
Noindex: /feedReaderJson

Sitemap: http://casualzone.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?orderby=updated
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Basically I removed /search code from Disallow section. After that I reexecuted the URL test. It showed no problem -->Allowed by line 5 , depicted in figure below.

Test was sucessfully without error

What was the next action? Save the new robot.txt file? The bad news is blogspot does not allow user to change robot.txt, too bad. That means those labels / tag links will not be indexed. It is fine because my URL links will not be duplicated according to google replied. If you really want to your label page to be indexed, for example: indexing my hiking label which consists of all my webpages about hiking, moutain, hill adventures. Then I have to create a page and manually put links to link back to those webpages.

You only can change the robot.txt if you host it or a server that allow you to upload file (robot.txt) into your main domain. If this is allowed, then you can remove the disallow statement in the robot.txt and upload to your website main domain. You could check your robot.txt too by typing http://your_domain.com/robot.txt or http://your_domain.blogspot.com/robot.txt

In short, my efford was in vain. Sigh..
