15 Malaysia Films

These 15 Malaysia films are fantastic describing the problems that Malaysia is facing. All the problem messages are burried and hidden in the films. Hopefully non-Malaysians can understand the hidden messages as well.

Potong Saga, is directed by Ho YungHang and casted by namewee 明志, who had once created a great controvesy in Malaysia about editting national song to Negarakuku from Negaraku . A laugh-out-loud film about a Chinese boy’s misguided attempts at opening an Islamic bank account. It reveals the misunderstanding and misinterpreting can easily happened in Malaysia if hearing from rumours, hearsays or incomlete sensentences. For this case, it shows Malaysian misinterpreting on "Islam".

Chocolate directed by Yasmin Ahmad. This film is actually very complex which has many hidden problems. See how many problems you can spot!

Tree: Malaysia’s most influential spiritual leader Nik Aziz offers commentary on the virtuous and Islamic way to conduct ethical commerce in his inimitable style.
This film is a bit bored in the way it presented, kind like an interview.

House: An Indian boy is asked to build a model of his house at school. A tale on the social economic plight faced by many Malaysians.

This is a real and true story that happened @ happening in Malaysia. Pretty sad and pity on the poor. What is our government doing?
PS: do you know who the last lady chatting with the little Indian student.. hehe.. you can get the answer from the film too...

Stanford PhD as Taxi-Driver in Singapore

(taken from http://news.omy.sg/News/Local%2BNews/Story/OMYStory200908191515-84293.html)

Probably the only taxi driver in this world with a PhD from Stanford and a proven track record of scientific accomplishments, I have been forced out of my research job at the height of my scientific career, and unable to find another one, for reasons I can only describe as something "uniquely Singapore". As a result, I am driving taxi to make a living and writing these real life stories just to make the dull job a little more interesting. I hope that these stories are interesting to you too.

What happens to Singapore. It is sad to of knowing this news that Singapore is so materialistic of terminating his job at that age, who had contributed his valuable knowledge to the company as a principle investigator. I previously thought Singapore was more cherish to science & high tech related industries besides business since Singapore is in a shortage of knowledgeable researchers and scientists. I might change the view on Singapore. Is it a cold blood materialistic country? No wonder people say Singapore is a good place to earn money (when you are young) but not on living, especially for the elders, since the medical charges are astronomically expensive. Is it true?
This news is a bit demotivating me as I am pursuing my Phd in NTU. Is it a good decision of studying Phd? Just looking forward and strive hard...since I have no plan of settling down here :p

NICE THOUGHTS

Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear

Self-confidence is the first requisite to great undertakings

Deeds not words shall speak me

Silence is one of the hardest arguments to refute

There are only two ways to live your life.
One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as if everything is.

Giving birth @ Hospital UKM

22 July 09 is an important milestone of my life, my lovely son was borned at hospital UKM (HUKM), KL. We are excited and happy to welcome the arrival of my baby. He is really cute! He was about 3.1kg & 50cm.

I found HUKM is quite good in term of environment and facilities. The doctors there are professional and friendly. Besides this, HUKM is not as crowded as in government hospital like hospital Kajang. I am impressed that I was allowed to enter labour room when my wife giving birth. I have seen the whole process how my wife striving hard to 'push' my son out. I thought I would be afraid when seeing blood, but I was not afraid. I was with her to show my full support. The whole process took around few hours. The total cost is around RM425 if I am not mistaken. It is much cheaper than private hospitals which definitely more than RM1k for natural labour.

Finally gone through the labour process...

having lunch

does he look like me or my wife?

This is an equipment to measure baby heart beat (red color) and contraction rate (yellow color). The heart beat is to make sure baby is healthy and breathing whereas the contraction rate is where the muscles at the abdomen contract so that woman can push baby out. In a layman, it is also an indicator of how painful she is.

In normal condition, the contraction rate is below 30 in the reading. It could shoot up to 140~150 in less than 5 minutes. The frequency of the contraction can increase sharply. I saw my wife holding tightly on the handrail when the reading was moving up to 60 and above rapidly. I really felt her pain too. So giving birth is not an easy task. It needs a lot of courages to endure the pain!

the contraction rate was moving above 127

This is a place where baby is placed right after the baby come out. The roof of the equipment provides warm temperature to baby. Baby will be cleaned out over here too. Note that it is located within the labour room, just beside the labour bed.

My wife in the labour room and the contraction rate was low
